WE REMEMBER OUR FRIEND
TERRY LOGAN
1943 - 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Logan.
Terry had an extensive history with the Eddie Herr tournament and was a
highly regarded member of our Eddie Herr family. Her association with us
began a number of years ago when she joined us as a USTA/ITF official;
more recently she served as our Tournament Office Manager. Terry handled
many of the tournament communications throughout the year. Many of you
knew her through the email and fax replies she sent to players, coaches,
federation, and parents. Over the past several years, she was also on
hand at the Tournament Desk at IMG Academies in Bradenton, lending her
expertise to the administration of the event and eager to answer your
questions and help you in any way she could.
A respected member of the tennis community, Terry was the 1999 USTA
Florida Official of the Year and past Secretary of the Bay Area Tennis
Officials Association. She earned a USTA White Badge and served as
referee for hundreds of tennis tournaments. Terry worked the U.S. Open
as a line umpire from 1997 to 2000.
She remained dedicated to the Eddie Herr tournament to the very end,
even as her health declined. Terry took great pride in watching the
world come together each November to compete and to enjoy the total
Eddie Herr Experience. It gave her genuine pleasure to assist players,
parents, and coaches in making that happen.
We are richer for the expertise, professionalism, and dedication Terry
brought us. She was an integral part of the Eddie Herr experience on
many levels and will be missed by many, especially me. May God bless
you, Terry.
