The number one and two seeds in the B18s are out compliments of Jack Carpenter (GBR) and Bjorn Fratangelo [WC] (USA). Carpenter defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert [1] (FRA) 6-2, 6-4 on Wednesday and Fratangelo battled to a 3-6, 7-6(1), 6-2 victory over Kevin Krawietz [2] (GER).

Three other B18s seeds fell, as well. Austin Gonzales (WC) (USA) dismissed Damir Dzumhur [8] (BIH); Oliver Golding (GBR) got by Junior Ore [10] (USA) 4-6, 7-5, 6-3; and Mark Verryth [Q] (AUS) defeated Micke Kontinen [11] 6-2, 7-5.

Cascino Defeats Guskova in G14s
Estelle Cascino [Q] (FRA) is on a roll! After tearing through the G14 qualies without losing a set, and winning her first two main draw matches, she faced off Wednesday against Tatiana Guskova [1] (RUS) in the round of 32. When the last ball was struck, Cascino had eliminated the number one seed, 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-2.

In what had to be the longest match of the day, Josie Kuhlman [4] (USA) needed more than four hours to subdue a very game Dhanielly Quevado (USA), 6-7(6), 6-0, 7-5 in G14s.

G16s
Riko Shimizu (USA) upset Elena Teodora Cadar [4] (ROM) 6-1, 6-4. Breaunna Addison (USA) scored a straight set win over Marcela Zacarias [8] (MEX) and Barbara Luz (POR) outlasted Denise Starr [12] (USA) 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

B16s
After grinding out a 3-6, 7-6(10), 7-5 win against William Kwok [1] (AUS) in his first match, Thiago Monteiro (BRA) brought in a straight sets win over Claudio Dias Conduto (AHO) 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of B16s.

G18s
Lou Broleau [Q] (FRA) registered the first major upset of the G18s with a stunning 7-5, 6-4 dismissal of Silvia Njiric [2] (CRO).

Fourteen-year old Madison Keys (USA) is having an easy time thus far, making her way in the G18s. The 2007 Eddie Herr 12s champion coasted to a 6-2, 6-0 second round victory over Tamara Bizhukova [LL] (RUS).

12s
The singles semifinals of boys and girls 12s are set for Thursday. In B12s, countrymen Duck Hee Lee (KOR) and Seongchan Hong [1] (KOR) will meet in one semi; Andrey Rublev [1] (RUS) will take on last year’s B12s finalist Stefan Kozlov [1] (USA) in the other semi. (The B12s division has 16 number one seeds.)

The G12s semis feature Mariya Shishkina (USA) against Maria Patrascu (CAN) and Tornado Black (USA) versus Anastasia Nefedova [1] (USA).

All of the 12s semifinals matches will be played Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

First Eddie Herr Finals of 2009 to Take Place Thursday
The first titles of the 2009 Eddie Herr International will be decided Thursday as the 12s boys and girls doubles finalists take to the courts.

Kellyn Abbanat (USA)/Ashley Bongart (USA) will battle Chaoyi Chen (CHN)/Yi Jia Shao (CHN) for the G12 doubles title at 10:00 a.m.

The B12s 1:00 p.m. doubles final pits Seongchan Hong [1] KOR/Soon Woo Kwan (KOR) against Boris Kozlov [1] (USA)/Stefan Kozlov (USA).
