First Champions of 2007
Eddie Herr are Crowned in 12s
The first title of the 2007
Eddie Herr International was awarded to G12 doubles
champions Jennifer Brady (USA) and Saska Gavrilovska (SCG).
The girls received a walkover in the finals when their
opponents, Tina Jiang and Ayaka Okuno of the USA, were
unable to compete due to illness.
In B12 doubles, Yifan Dang (CHN)
and Tom Hill (GBR) squeaked past Gage Brymer (USA) and
Joseph Di Giulio (USA) 9-8 in an 8-game pro set to capture
the championship.

The 12s mixed doubles title
was won by the Ukranian team of Olha Gaystruk and Pylyp
Kekercheni. The champs dominated Koreans Su Jeoung Jang and
Chan Hwi Shin 8-1 in the finals.
Lederman to Play Di Guilio
in B12 Singles Final
Roy Lederman [1] (USA)
secured a place in B12 singles finals by virtue of his 1-6;
7-5; 6-4 semi-final victory over Gianliugi Quinzi (ITA). The
match, which lasted close to three hours, was marked by deep
groundstrokes, long baseline rallies, and excellent court
coverage. At 3-5 in the second set, Lederman rallied from
the brink of defeat to break Quinzi as he served for the
match. The remainder of the second set stayed tight, with
Lederman eventually breaking Quinzi at 5-6 to force a third
set. Lederman hung on to prevail 6-4 in the deciding set.
Joseph Di Guilio [1] (USA) had an easier time in the other
B12 semi-final. Di Guilio registered a 6-1; 6-1 win over
Elio Livi (USA) to advance to the finals.
The B12 finals will be contested Friday at 9:00 am.
Vickery and Keys Set to Compete for G12 Singles Crown
Madison Keys [1] (USA)
powered her way to a berth in the G12 singles finals with a
convincing 6-1; 6-1 semi-final win over fellow American
Alexandra Kiick.
In the other semi-final, Su Jeoung Jang [1] (KOR) proved no
match for Sachia Vickery [1] (USA). Vickery triumphed over
Jang 6-2; 6-2 to reserve her spot the G12s finals.
The G12 finals are scheduled for Friday at 9:00 am.
Singles and doubles play in the 14s, 16s and 18s continues
Friday.
